Project Architect

Location: Cape Girardeau, MO
Salary: $110,000 - $135,000+ annually (commensurate with experience)
Total compensation package:  $125K - $155K

Relocation: Open to relocation opportunities

Basic Function

The Project Architect will oversee and coordinate all phases of architectural design and documentation for new and existing hospitality projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, design sensitivity, and project leadership to deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to all phases of design, including site planning, building design, detailing, documentation, and construction administration.

  • Maintain project schedules by ensuring the timely preparation of design deliverables across assigned projects.

  • Collaborate closely with project teams to integrate design intent into construction documentation, specifications, and field execution.

  • Provide construction administration support, including reviewing shop drawings, submittals, site visits, and quality control.

  • Coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Support evaluation of new products, energy-saving strategies, and cost-effective design solutions.

  • Foster teamwork and communication across internal design teams, consultants, and contractors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of architectural and engineering principles, concepts, and terminology.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and Bluebeam required; experience with visualization tools such as SketchUp, Photoshop, or other 3D software preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA, life safety standards, and permitting processes.

  • Proven experience leading and organizing construction documentation and specifications.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, business writing, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate as a proactive, solution-oriented team player.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program (preferred).

  • Licensed Architect.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of progressive architectural experience, ideally within hospitality, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
