At DGA, we believe great architecture starts with great collaboration. We’re seeking a seasoned Project Architect to help lead innovative commercial projects from concept through completion. With a focus on both Core & Shell and Interiors, this role blends creative vision with technical expertise. Ideal candidates bring at least 8 years of experience in commercial architecture, are licensed in California (or in the process), and thrive in managing complex projects while building strong client relationships—all within a supportive, forward-thinking studio culture.


Qualifications (Strong candidates will demonstrate most, if not all, of the required qualifications):

  • A minimum of 8 years technical expertise in commercial architecture is required, including demonstrated success as a project architect on a range of corporate project types (office, conference center, life science, healthcare, or high-tech laboratory design a plus). 
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • California Licensed architect or in process
  • An understanding of building materials, details, and construction techniques for both core & shell and interiors  
  • A proficient knowledge of building codes, standards, and CBC/ADA accessibility requirements 
  • Ability to work constructively with entitlement agencies & AHJs
  • Ability to coordinate with internal team members, external consultants, and contractors 
  • Experience with construction administration, including development of project manual and specifications, material and shop drawing review, RFI responses, Field Observations and Punch walks. Includes approach of partnering with the GC towards successful resolution. 
  • Some contract management and experience negotiating project scope and fees, or willingness to learn
  • Must have the ability to maintain client relationships by developing trust and partnerships for future projects. 
  • Must be proficient in Autodesk REVIT, Bluebeam, and  MS Office Suite . Experience with ACC and BIM360 a plus.
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with confidence and professionalism 
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal management skills 


Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to...)

  • Manage multiple small to medium-sized projects or manage a large-sized project.
  • Produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permitting and bidding for small projects. 
  • Respond to AHJ plan check comments during permitting
  • Review, develop, and edit specifications.
  • Lead day-to-day construction administration activities. Provide oversight and monitoring of the work performed by junior staff.
  • Establish and execute project work plan and staffing requirements.
  • Develop trusting relationships with clients.

At the time of posting this job advertisement, the annual pay salary range for this position is between $120,000 to $160,000 commensurate with qualifications
