The Role
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Drafting & Design Support
Develops comprehensive floor plan options for properties in the due diligence phase using AutoCAD.
Collaborates with the interior design team to produce layout floor plans, cabinet shop drawings, MEP plans, roof plans, and hardscape plans.
Creates detailed interior and exterior elevations, schedules, and construction details for residential renovations.
Support the design team in visualizing spaces and preparing high-quality project presentations and binders.
Project Coordination & Compliance
Coordinates with field project managers to understand structural limitations and functional requirements for interior spaces.
Prepares permit drawings in strict compliance with specific jurisdictional and building code requirements.
Participates in design coordination meetings, identifying potential technical issues and proposing innovative layout improvements.
Revises project documentation based on feedback to ensure all stakeholders are aligned before construction begins.
Operational Logistics
Manages virtual floor plans and maintains organized digital project binders.
Assists in the material ordering process by providing accurate take-offs and specifications from the plans.
Ensures all project milestones are met under strict deadlines to maintain the renovation schedule.
Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies
Required Qualifications
Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of AutoCAD; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Experience: Verifiable experience working on residential projects, with a solid understanding of construction means, methods, and basic structural framing.
Spatial Awareness: Strong ability to envision new layouts and transform existing structures to maximize a home's functional and aesthetic potential.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; able to relate to a diverse staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Professionalism: High level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Education: A four-year degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
Seasoned Expertise: Five (5) or more years of verifiable drafting experience in the residential or multi-family sectors.
Software: Proficiency in Photoshop and SketchUp for advanced visualization.
Ability to see and read computer screens, small electronic devices, and detailed maps/blueprints.
Capability for prolonged periods of sitting and focused computer work.
Stability: Stable, full-time remote position with a consistent monthly wage.
