Position Overview

Christman Pool, part of the Easton Select Group family of brands, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Renovation & Construction Manager to oversee pool renovation and construction operations throughout the greater Portland, Maine area. This position is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from permitting, planning, and scheduling through field execution, quality control, and final customer handoff while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with solid project management and administrative skills. This individual should be equally comfortable leading crews in the field, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, reviewing project plans and changing orders, and maintaining accurate documentation, permits, schedules, and project costs.

Given Maine’s limited seasonal construction window, this role requires strong planning, proactive scheduling, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Success in this position will depend on maintaining consistent project momentum, anticipating potential challenges, and ensuring that each project meets the company’s standards for quality, safety, customer service, and profitability.

Core Responsibilities

Renovation & Construction Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day renovation and construction operations, including pool resurfacing, tile, and coping renovations as well as new pool and outdoor living construction
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, labor coordination, and overall project execution from inception to completion
  • Plan and sequence the project pipeline around Maine's seasonal window, weather, and ground conditions to maximize productive build time
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries to keep projects on schedule
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and permits to confirm scope alignment and compliance
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve delays, scope changes, and operational issues

Team Leadership & Field Coordination

  • Lead and support renovation and construction crews, foremen, and subcontractors across multiple active job sites
  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and progress meetings
  • Provide coaching, direction, and accountability to field personnel
  • Support workforce planning, crew scheduling, and labor allocation, including seasonal staffing
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and craftsmanship

Project Administration & Documentation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout each project
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, invoices, change orders, and progress reports
  • Obtain and track permits and inspections with local municipalities
  • Maintain accurate project records and status in company project management and ERP systems
  • Prepare project timelines, status updates, and reports for senior leadership

Financial & Operational Oversight

  • Track project costs, labor utilization, and job profitability against budget
  • Review and approve change orders and job costing
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and lower project costs

Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies on all job sites
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and permit requirements
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout each project to maintain workmanship standards
  • Address customer concerns and escalations professionally and promptly

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Estimating, Service, and Customer Service teams to support project success
  • Own the handoff from sale to production and from completed project to the service team
  • Support Easton Select Group integration and operational standardization initiatives
  • Participate in leadership meetings, operational planning, and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction, renovation, or project management experience
  • Experience in pool construction or renovation, excavation, hardscaping, or a related trade preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, budgeting, and job costing
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, contracts, and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the service area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing residential pool renovation (resurfacing, tile, and coping) and construction projects
  • Experience with construction in northern climates and seasonal scheduling
  • Knowledge of Maine permitting, inspections, and building code requirements
  • OSHA certification or construction safety training
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)
  • Experience with construction management or ERP software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, NetSuite)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
