Lead Field Execution for Mission-Critical Infrastructure

The GOR Group is supporting a client seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager, Division 26E to lead the field execution of enabling infrastructure and prerequisite systems across complex, mission-critical construction projects.

This role is responsible for the successful delivery of Division 26E scope, including enabling infrastructure, conveyance systems, grounding and bonding interfaces, and installation packages that support downstream Division 27 and Division 28 work.

The Senior Construction Manager will lead self-perform crews, subcontractors, Foremen, and field leadership teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project standards, schedule milestones, quality expectations, and turnover requirements.

From work release through project closeout, this leader will drive accountability across planning, sequencing, production, installation readiness, and turnover. Success will be measured through defined release and readiness gates, not simply labor activity or percentage-complete reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Division 26E Field Execution

  • Direct and manage Division 26E field operations through Foremen, frontline leaders, self-perform crews, subcontractors, and supporting trade partners.
  • Maintain a strong field presence and ensure installation activities are performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Establish clear expectations for production, quality, documentation, safety, and schedule performance.
  • Coach and mentor Foremen and field leaders to strengthen leadership capabilities and build scalable execution teams.

Own Enabling Infrastructure Delivery

Lead the installation, coordination, and completion of systems and packages that may include:

  • Enabling electrical infrastructure
  • Pathways, raceways, supports, and conveyance systems
  • Grounding and bonding systems
  • Equipment and system interfaces
  • Prerequisite installation packages
  • Infrastructure supporting Division 27 and Division 28 systems
  • Room, area, and system readiness requirements

Drive Production and Schedule Performance

  • Lead short-interval planning, daily production tracking, and look-ahead scheduling.
  • Align field activities with project milestones, work releases, and turnover requirements.
  • Manage manpower, materials, equipment, access, and installation sequencing.
  • Identify schedule risks and production constraints before they affect downstream work.
  • Implement corrective actions and recovery strategies when production output or project milestones are at risk.

Maintain Project Readiness

  • Confirm work areas are prepared and released before crews begin installation.
  • Ensure prerequisite work, materials, access, documentation, and coordination requirements are complete.
  • Manage room readiness, release-to-work sequencing, and controlled handoffs between trades.
  • Prevent premature installation activities that could create rework, congestion, or downstream delays.

Coordinate Multi-Trade Interfaces

  • Coordinate Division 26E activities with Division 27, Division 28, logistics, field engineering, commissioning, and other construction trades.
  • Lead coordination discussions involving installation dependencies, access, sequencing, and system interfaces.
  • Resolve conflicts between trades while protecting safety, quality, schedule, and turnover objectives.
  • Maintain clear communication across field teams, technical stakeholders, and project leadership.

Establish Installation Discipline

  • Enforce installation standards, approved work methods, quality requirements, and project documentation procedures.
  • Verify crews are working from current drawings, specifications, and approved construction documents.
  • Monitor workface conditions and correct installation concerns before they become larger quality or schedule issues.
  • Ensure completed work is properly documented, inspected, and prepared for turnover.

Resolve Execution Risks

  • Proactively identify and remove field execution blockers.
  • Escalate design, material, access, manpower, or coordination concerns when additional support is required.
  • Develop practical solutions that allow work to progress without compromising safety or quality.
  • Maintain accountability for corrective actions and confirm issues are fully resolved.

Manage Subcontractor Performance

  • Establish clear expectations regarding manpower, sequencing, production, quality, safety, and documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress and address performance concerns promptly.
  • Validate that subcontractors are adequately staffed and prepared to meet scheduled commitments.
  • Manage subcontractor punch completion, closeout documentation, and turnover responsibilities.

Maintain Daily Project Visibility

  • Provide accurate updates regarding production, manpower, constraints, schedule risks, and readiness.
  • Maintain daily field reports, production metrics, issue logs, and look-ahead information.
  • Communicate critical risks and required decisions to project leadership.
  • Ensure project reporting reflects actual installation and turnover readiness.

Support Testing, Commissioning, and Turnover

  • Coordinate punch management, testing support, commissioning readiness, and system turnover.
  • Confirm installation packages are complete before testing or commissioning activities begin.
  • Support the resolution of deficiencies identified during inspections, testing, or commissioning.
  • Drive field teams and subcontractors through final closeout and acceptance.

Systems and Infrastructure Supported

This role may support:

  • Enabling electrical infrastructure
