Glenna Stone Interiors is seeking a full-time, talented interior design professional to support all phases of residential and commercial design projects. This position is based in Philadelphia, PA, and relocation will be required.

We are looking for a candidate with 7+ years of experience in high-end residential or boutique hospitality design who is eager to flourish creatively in a lead role. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design, experienced in FF&E, highly motivated, and collaborative. Strong verbal and visual communication skills and the ability to manage project budgets and workflows through all phases of design are essential.



This role requires someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a client-centric mindset. The candidate will also play a key role in mentoring junior designers and contributing to a positive, forward-thinking team environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for leading all design phases, including project management, concept development, documentation, and client interaction. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of project design in collaboration with the Design Director/Principal.
  • Conceptualize and communicate design ideas through mood boards, imagery, and hand sketching.
  • Develop space plans, project budgets, schedules, and programming documentation.
  • Lead the selection and specification of finishes, materials, and furnishings.
  • Oversee the preparation of design and construction documents.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and consultants; lead client meetings and presentations.
  • Organize and manage project workflows and team member responsibilities.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs.
  • Foster collaboration across project teams.
  • Mentor junior designers and support their growth.
  • Understand and apply building codes and systems.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Expertise in sophisticated architectural detailing and high-end interiors
  • Strong design aesthetic aligned with luxury residential or boutique hospitality environments
  • Experience sourcing and designing custom FF&E
  • Proficiency in phased design processes
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects on time and within budget
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Resilient under pressure and able to effectively prioritize tasks
  • 7+ years of relevant interior design experience
  • Must be self-motivated, deadline-driven, and enjoy working in a small team setting
  • Must have access to a car
