Responsibilities

The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for leading and managing all construction activities across one or multiple project zones/packages, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution in accordance with contractual obligations, company standards, and client requirements.

The role provides strategic leadership to Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, and site teams while ensuring successful delivery of complex construction projects through effective planning, coordination, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and operational excellence.

 

  • Support the development of Saudi National employees in line with the company's Saudization strategy, succession planning, and capability development initiatives.
  • Mentor Construction Managers, Engineers, and site leadership teams to build future organizational capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, collaboration, innovation, quality, and safety throughout the project.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Code of Ethics, Corporate Governance, and all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Drive digital transformation through effective utilization of ERP systems, Oracle, project controls, and construction management technologies.
  • Participate in workforce planning, talent reviews, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee day-to-day responsibilities of the site team in accordance with project business plans within the company’s policies and procedures and meeting the approved budget
  • Supervise related equipment operations at site and manage effective utilization
  • Assist the Project Manager with producing BoQs and provide required support to ensure timely approvals
  • Monitor project execution items and report unbudgeted ones
  • Issue variation order for any change in the scope of works that could result from design or shop drawings by the consultant or instructions from the client
  • Liaise with project management to obtain approval from consultant for design, shop drawings and material submittals
  • Regularly report the operational and financial status of the site zones to the Project Manager 
  • Monitor labor productivity by liaising with the HR and management teams to mobilize needed resources in a timely manner
  • Monitor labor availability and measure trade productivity to support project execution within budget and schedule
  • Provide comments and recommendations for the Engineering function to generate shop drawings
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing project work plan, assign work activities, monitor workflow and direct activities to serve project goals and plans
  • Follow up on delivery and close out of site works in accordance to the contractual arrangements and agreed financial and commercial objectives
  • Prepare and present monthly site summary reports for the Project Manager
  • Support the development and maintenance of a constructive relationship with clients
  • Develop, implement and monitor project plans, project controls mechanisms (progress vs. plan), make recommendations on changes to the project specifications, budgets, schedules to the Project Director and highlight possible risks with mitigation plans
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to establish detailed project plans identifying key milestones and deliverables
  • Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Ensure the implementation of the approved shop drawings as per the set specifications and standards
  • Establish good communications with other Project departments
  • Prepare all Inspection Requests and follow up with Consultant’s engineers all approvals of the works
  • Ensure the implementation of the company QHSE plans on site


Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
  • 15-20  years of experience in construction and project management, of which at least 10 years in Construction managerial position
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)
  • Advanced training courses in Project Management is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention of detail.
  • Highly skilled in team management and able to work cohesively as part of the wider organization
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects with a focus on results.
  • Strong cost awareness and impact on business bottom line.
  • Good knowledge in Construction Management, QA/QC Management, and Contractual Management
  • Demonstrate high level of knowledge in civil construction management along with project management skills.
  • Well-experienced in implementing Statutory, Legal, and Company Policies and Procedures
