Description



The City of Springfield is seeking a Transportation Planner to help modernize Public Works project delivery through stronger capital program management, infrastructure prioritization, funding coordination, and performance tracking. This position will work closely with Public Works teams to improve project accountability, and help guide investments that improve safety, mobility, and long term community growth.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with specialization in Community or Transportation Planning, Engineering, Economics, Geography, or related field;
AND
  • Two years of responsible related experience; 
  • A Master's Degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

 Licensing/Certification
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) membership or registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri is desired, but not required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
