DIVISION/LOCATION:  Fiber Cement Siding / Houston, TX    

POSITION TITLE:  Logistics Transportation Coordinator          

REPORTS TO TITLE:  Logistics Manager          

GENERAL FUNCTION

As a member of the logistics team, the Transportation Coordinator will coordinate and schedule trucks for delivering finished products to customers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter daily transportation data into SAP, TMS and Smartsheet       
  • Troubleshoot orders for possible errors prior to scheduling.
  • Communicate with carriers to secure trucks for outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate with international brokers for the movement of equipment to support the operations team.
  • Negotiate rates based on current market conditions. 
  • Expedite shipments based on internal or customer demands.
  • Provide ETA’s, delivery information and PODs as needed. 
  • Track shipments and reschedule as necessary to maintain OTIF.
  • Collaborate with Customer Experience Team concerning returns or diverted shipments.
  • Perform end of month duties including audit of cost transfers
  • Participate in departmental OKR’s.
  • Provide coverage to other regions for vacation and unexpected absences.
  • Other duties upon request

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  

  • Skilled at prioritizing, multi-tasking and time management while paying attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data entry and comfortable using various computer systems.
  • Excellent communication skills including both written and verbal. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude during all interactions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a traffic control or related position.
