Job Summary:

The Transportation Project Manager is responsible for helping partners conceive, plan, fund, and execute transportation infrastructure projects. This position is also responsible for the administration of the County Corridor Preservation Program including policy development and enforcement. They will be responsible for development, negotiation, and execution of transportation project contracts. This position requires a working knowledge of civil engineering & related services including roadway design, right-of-way acquisition, construction oversight, and public involvement.



Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development, negotiation, execution, and oversight of MAG funded highway, transit, and active transportation project contracts.
  • Participates in the development of the regional transportation plan, including road & transit with a particular focus on active transportation planning for the MPO and RPO to ensure planning and project understanding and coordination.
  • Oversees the planning, funding, & execution of transportation projects, ensuring the projects are executed within budget & scope.
  • Represents MAG to various state agencies, consultants, partners, and stakeholders. Maintains positive MAG partner relationships and collaborations.
  • Oversees the administration of the Corridor Preservation Program including development, updates, and implementation of policies & practices. Ensures state and federal program compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in planning, public administration, engineering, or similar/related field (Masters degree preferred)
  • PMP, PPM, and/or AICP certifications (highly preferred)
  • Three years' closely related professional experience
  • Understanding of current economic development, housing, land use, and transportation issues
  • Experience explaining and presenting complex transportation scenarios in an uncomplicated, easy-to-understand manner
  • Experience managing and optimizing complex budgets
