Introduction

Our client, a well-established civil construction company with decades of experience delivering major infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Manager to join their Western Cape team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the successful delivery of roadworks, earthworks, pipelaying and township development projects while overseeing site operations from inception through to completion.

The successful candidate will provide strong leadership on site, manage resources and subcontractors, ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, and maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the construction process.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:
• Manage construction projects from site establishment through to project completion.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress, quality and productivity.
• Manage project costs and prepare monthly progress claims.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Lead site teams to achieve programme, quality and financial objectives.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP will be advantageous.
• Valid South African driver's licence.

 

Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Construction Manager on civil engineering projects.
• At least 8 years' post-qualification experience in civil engineering construction.
• Proven experience managing site resources, programme, quality and costs.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and contract administration.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Willingness to travel and work throughout the Western Cape.
