Position: Construction Manager – Design & Construct (FIDIC Silver Book)

Project Contract: FIDIC Silver Book

Contract type: Contract Based – (Project to be completed in Feb 2030, LDC)

Location:  Midrand, Pretoria Gauteng

Reports To: Contracts Manager

 

 

 

About the Role

Our client requires an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the construction delivery of a Water Design & Construct project involving the installation of large-diameter welded steel pipelines and associated civil infrastructure.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage all site construction activities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and labour.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Drive productivity and programme performance.
  • Coordinate with the design team to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure successful testing, commissioning and handover.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma, BTech or BSc in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered as Pr CM with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) or ECSA. 
  • Minimum 15 years’ construction experience.
  • At least 10 years managing major civil infrastructure projects.

Experience in:

  • Steel welded pipelines
  • Bulk water infrastructure
  • Pipe laying
  • Trenching
  • Concrete structures
  • Mechanical installations
      • Hydrostatic testing
      • Commissioning
      • Strong leadership and planning skills.
      • Proficient in CCS, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Non negotiable

  • Delivered bulk water infrastructure projects exceeding R500 million.
  • Extensive experience with FIDIC Silver Book contracts
  • Successfully managed the installation of large-diameter welded steel pipelines.
  • Strong design coordination experience in an EPC environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams and a proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

Package & Remuneration

R150 000K P/M excluding benefits, allowances etc
