Introduction

We are a well-established and growing construction company seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.

This role is suited to a hands-on, results-driven professional with strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in managing complex construction projects.

 

Candidates with minimum 8 years experience will be considred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overall management of construction projects from planning to final handover

  • Site management, including supervision of site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

  • Planning and monitoring project timelines, budgets, and resources

  • Ensuring compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

  • Managing health, safety, and environmental compliance on site

  • Coordinating with consultants, engineers, clients, and internal stakeholders

  • Quality control and inspection of works to ensure high construction standards

  • Managing procurement of materials and subcontractors

  • Identifying and mitigating project risks and resolving site issues proactively

  • Preparing progress reports and attending project meetings

  • Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum 8 years experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager

  • Proven experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and regulations

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Building Science (preferred)

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, and project scheduling

  • Knowledge of South African construction legislation and health & safety standards
