Introduction

The Junior Construction Manager will be responsible for supporting the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from initiation through to commissioning and handover. This role oversees site activities, manages project resources, and works closely with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating project execution, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
  • Oversee daily construction activities and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, quality, and timelines, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify project risks, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Prepare budgets, procurement plans, and project documentation.
  • Support project delivery from initiation through commissioning and final handover.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • BEng/BSc/BTech in Engineering, Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent Project/Construction/Quantity Surveying  Management qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in construction and project management within renewable energy or general construction environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Solar PV construction processes would be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's licence and legal eligibility to work in South Africa.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

R 25 000 - R 28 000 CTC pm
