Senior Construction Manager – Underground Mining Projects
Location: Doornkop Mine, Gauteng (Site Based)
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Construction Manager to join the Doornkop Owner's Team (same project as Herman).
This is a site-based role focused on the safe and efficient execution of underground mining infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will take ownership of multiple concurrent construction work packages, including ore passes, tips, loading boxes, conveyors, pump stations, civil works and associated underground infrastructure. The role requires a practical construction leader who is comfortable spending time in the field, coordinating contractors, resolving site issues and driving project delivery.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 15 years' construction management experience on mining capital projects.
- Proven experience managing underground mining construction activities.
- Strong contractor management and site execution experience.
- Experience delivering infrastructure such as conveyors, loading boxes, ore passes, pump stations and associated civil, structural and mechanical works.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and work fronts simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction safety, quality management and project scheduling.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Owner's Team or EPCM experience will be advantageous.
Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
- Project Management qualification advantageous.
