Introduction

The Construction Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role provides leadership to construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, engineering specifications, statutory regulations, and HSEQ requirements.

The incumbent plans and allocates resources, monitors project progress, manages construction risks, controls costs, resolves operational challenges, and works closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and manage all on-site construction activities.
  • Ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications, schedules and quality standards.
  • Manage contractors, subcontractors and site personnel.
  • Monitor project progress, resources, equipment and materials.
  • Implement and enforce HSEQ requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate construction risks.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in construction management within EPC, infrastructure or building projects.
  • Proven experience managing civil, structural and building works.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD and construction management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • South African citizen or permanent resident.
